Covenant Worships Outdoors (weather permitting)
Sunday June 14th
Service will be Indoors this Sunday due to the weather forecast.
Our Covenant Community worships outdoors, on the shady West lawn, three Sundays this Summer, beginning this week, June 14th! If the weather prohibits our outdoor plans, communication about moving indoors will be shared via a special email and on our website the Saturday preceding service. Mark your calendars for the other two outdoor service dates: July 12 and August 16, 2026.
Why do we worship outdoors? We have been reminded these past few weeks of God’s beautiful creation through the Genesis Scriptures. Worshipping outdoors brings us into the beauty and splendor of God’s divine creation. We also share our Covenant Community more openly with University Circle neighbors when we gather outdoors.
Show your Covenant LGBTQ+ PRIDE on the 14th! We encourage you to wear your Presbyterian PRIDE shirts or your favorite bright colors to support our LGBTQ+ siblings in Christ during the outdoor worship service on June 14th. Matthew Garrett will have a limited number of extra Presbyterian PRIDE shirts available. Contact him if you would like to purchase one: mgarrett@covenantweb.org. He’ll have the extras ready in the reception room before worship so you can change before service.
West Lawn Access Worshippers needing accessible entry to the West lawn are encouraged to park in the North lot. You may make your way around to the lawn with more level and even sidewalks, through the CWRU campus. Ushers may also help with directions and access.
Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and a friend! We will also provide chairs. Worshippers needed assistance standing and sitting are welcome to use one of our wooden arm chairs along the sidewalk. If you have any questions about our outdoor services, please call the church office.
