The Presbyterian Historical Society (also known as the Department of History of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)) was founded in 1852 to preserve and service materials relating to the history of the Presbyterian Church.
The Society serves as one of the records depositories for all administrative units of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as well as the official archives for a number of other organizations in which Presbyterians have played a significant role.
As shown above, the Society's facility is in Philadelphia PA.
The Philadelphia building contains several areas of interest to visitors ... a museum room displaying a selection of the Society's collections, a library and a reading room where visitors may study documents from the extensive collections.
The Philadelphia building is located approximately four blocks from Independence Hall, so is walk able by most visitors to the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia. Limited parking is also available on the Historical Society's premises.
There are several existing websites which can be visited to gain more background on the Philadelphia facility: Presbyterian Historical Society, Independence Hall Association or Philadelphia Area Consortium of Special Collections Libraries.
Your visit to either of the Presbyterian Historical Society's facilities for research or browsing is encouraged.
