We were their apostles, showing them signs - every soul can strive to make a difference. AJ |
The senior high school youth group led the congregation in worship on Sunday, July 2, as they shared their heart warming, sincere and often humorous experiences of their recent mission trip to help the people of Crank's Creek, Kentucky. Crank's Creek has the unfortunate distinction of being located in the poorest county in the United States. The city is plagued by the coal mining assault on the environment and lack of job opportunities. Each of the participants kept a journal of observations and experiences. By clicking on the button marked "JOURNALS", you may read these interesting accounts. The button marked "REFLECTIONS" will take you to a page where our missionaries from the Covenant speak of the meaning of this experience and how it affected their faith journey. You will read about Mrs. G's beautiful antique door, the dreaded port-a-potty, the local's reaction to using the lake as a bath tub, and the wonder of PBJ sandwiches. |
