We were their apostles

We were their apostles, showing them signs - every soul can strive to make a difference.

The transformation began to happen for the youth, and they began to find out what it means to be chosen, holy and beloved. They stood together knowing that very first day that they were on a mission sent out by Christ - called to serve. They began to realize what it meant to be a Christian. They began to understand what it meant to be a disciple.

Youth Service Trip
Crank's Creek, Kentucky - June, 2005

The senior high school youth group led the congregation in worship on Sunday, July 2, as they shared their heart warming, sincere and often humorous experiences of their recent mission trip to help the people of Crank's Creek, Kentucky. Crank's Creek has the unfortunate distinction of being located in the poorest county in the United States. The city is plagued by the coal mining assault on the environment and lack of job opportunities. Each of the participants kept a journal of observations and experiences.
